About Me: My name is Rachel Goad and I’m the new POC Research Assistant for Regional Rare Plant Monitoring in 2008. I come to this program with a bit of relevant experience; I worked for a very similar program at a place called Garden in the Woods just outside of Boston during 2006. I enjoyed becoming familiar with New England’s flora and getting to work with some very dedicated volunteers. I’m really looking forward to getting out in the field, getting to know the volunteers and the plants, and also to working with the impressive mass of data this program is accumulating. I bring plenty of irrelevant experience as well; I am an accomplished dog-walker and weed-killer, an amateur organic farmer, and a beginning knitter.
